THE PURPOSE

Per Aspera Ad Astra was created to express the personal experience of a student of higher education, and give advice to students with a similar background that may find themselves struggling in an environment that was not created for them. It was also created to showcase the incredible untold stories of  immigrants in the United States as they go through hardships to the stars.

About Me

Hi! My name is Belky Hernandez. I am a sophomore at St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN. I am double majoring in Psychology and Political Science on a pre-law track. I am a first-generation, low-income, hispanic student with DACA. 

A mouthful. I know. It just means that for most of my life the road to success was never like driving on the highway. It was like climbing a mountain with nothing but a thin jacket, some dirty converse shoes, a flashlight, and where the only place left to go was up.

I wish to take you on that journey with me. I promise it won't be your typical mountain hike.
